About Elena

Elena can’t look at a plane without wishing she were on it. She grew up in San Francisco, a giant playground for any kid. But Elena didn’t appreciate the foggy, hilly city until she left it. Her two sisters think she’s nuts the way she likes to keep on the move. But it satisfies her wanderlust.

After graduating from University of California at Berkeley, Elena lived in New York where she got an M.A. in Journalism from Columbia University and then on to happening London which she has used as her travel hub for the past twenty years. Elena has written about everything from killer bike rides in Norway to hammams in Istanbul. She has stayed in everything from inexpensive, charming B&B’s in the Cotswolds to high rent charming palaces in India. Elena has written for Indagare, Travel & Leisure, Town & Country, Smart Luxury Travel, Budget Travel, Tate Modern, City Secrets London and countless others. She’s also writing a book.

Whether it’s a tantalising art exhibit across town in Bloomsbury or a great tour in Jerusalem, she’s ready to go. Her suitcase is packed and her eyes are wide open.
